Bereft Staring into midnight-blues, Eyes that serve to just bemuse, I know I cannot now resist As they bid me, lean in, kiss Lips that I will not withstand Twist me like an ampersand And bind me, bind my heart and soul, One billion years, without parole Inhibitions are all gone Scattered out upon the lawn There is no way now to turn back To stall or stop this Heart Attack Those arms that held me, hold me tight They disappear then, in the night And I know of no remnant left And this fact leaves me so…. bereft
