Terminology
Terminology refers to the general ACCEPTED TERM or word for a given idea. Some call is “lingo” We are going to study the lingo on music
Frequency
Frequency is the number of complete vibrations or cycles per second produced by a sound Measured in hertz Yes, now we get to play with a slinky!!! The keyboard is divided into octaves. A(440 HZ) and A(880 HZ)

Pitch
Pitch is the relative sound of a note based on its frequency How high or how low

Staff – a group of lines to show available pitches
Clef – dictates the location of notes on the staff. It goes at the beginning. Pictures to come.

Lines and Spaces – Names are based on the clef Ledger lines – these are lines above and below the staff Note head – the base of the notational symbol for a given note The stem – shows the duration of a given note in conjunction with the note head.
