“Deposits are the main source of funds for banks’ business but if there are no deposits, banks could still be operating profitably”. Do you agree or not? Support your opinion with proper arguments.

One of your classmates wishes to open a bank account but he is not willing to visit the bank. He rather requests you to help him in opening of a bank account with out any visit to the bank by him. How would you help your classmate? As a student of banking Law and Practice you must observe all the legal requirements.

Q. 4

Raza got a cheque of Rs.50000/ from Salman in the settlement of one of his claims. He went to the counter of a bank and presented the cheque for payment. The cashier of the bank returned the cheque to Raza and told him that this was a “crossed cheque”. This cheque should not be presented on the counter of the bank for encashment and proper rules should be followed. Mr. Raza is thinking that Salman has deceived him and he should go to police station and initiate an FIR against Salman. You are required to help Mr. Raza and guide him properly.

Q. 5 “DFIs have become burden on the national exchequer of the country. They play no role in the economy and should be closed down”. Do you agree with this comment? You should support your opinion with arguments.
