Aim: Grammar: avoiding repetition Use slide 2 as a lead-in. Tell them you’ll be talking about movies and ask the whole group if they like going to the cinema. Pre-teach vocabulary from slide 2. Then pair sts up so they can discuss the questions Collect some feedback (e.g. ask all the “film buffs” to raise their hands). Divide class in 2 or 3 groups. Use slide 3 to explain the game and slide 4 to model it. Hand out the accompanying worksheet and give groups 7 minutes to negotiate their collective answers. Now the real game begins. Give each group a marker. The group must send out a different person at a time to write the answer on the board. The first correct answer scores 2 points. If it’s grammatically correct, but not the same as in the movie, it’s worth only 1 point. Ask sts if they have seen those movies and how they would rate them from 1 to 10.

Warm-up Chat • Are you a film buff? • Do you ever watch the same movie over and over again? • Do you know movie lines by heart? • What lines do you consider memorable? Why?
