THE R.C.I.A. Every now and then people come along seeking to become members of our church com community. For many years we have heard of, and many of you have participated in some way with the R.C.I.A.: the Rite of Christian Initiation. In recent months several people have expressed interest in sharing in Full Communion with us. Through marriage and and family life they have had extensive exposure to not only Christian Faith, but to our Roman Catholic celebration of our faith. As a Sacramental Church they seek to experience fully the sense and reality of being in Full Communion with us. As such – they are not beginners on the Christian journey – but people who are faithfaith-filled and ready to respond to God’s call in their life at at this time. We are about to begin a process this fall as a Parish Community whereby we will arrive at formally welcoming them to our Table of Eucharist. We appreciate your prayerful parishioners rishioners to support of their journey. As well, we will seek the support of many pa assist them on their journey. If you are aware of someone who may have an interest in exploring our Faith, we invite invite you to make the Parish office aware by a simple call to our Parish staff. We would naturally welcome them to explore with us. us. Once we have begun the program it will be difficult to start again so please let us know now. THE PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK THE PASTORAL CARE of those who are ill or physically disabled, thus separated from the communal celebrations of the sacraments, is always a concern. Regularly scheduled visits of a minister of care to those who are separated from the community are most important for the parish’s ministry of pastoral care. These visits should include the opportunity for prayer, fellowship, and the sharing of Holy Communion. Be sure that those who ar ill or confined to their home are aware and understand that if they wish to receive the sacrament of Penance and/or the Anointing of the Sick, they need only tell the minister of care. The minister of care can help arrange for a priest to give these sacraments. BAPTISMS: We welcome to the Christian Community the child baptized at St. Francis Xavier this weekend. As the Parents and Sponsors made a commitment to share with this child our Catholic faith, we as a faith community offer our on-going support to:
