Life of the Church

A N NO U N C E M E N T S

by Pastor Keith Felton

Our Personnel Committee and Music & Worship Committee have combined to create a Search Committee for our next Music Minister. They will be conducting interviews this week and next with a few candidates for the position. I hope you will be in prayer for the Search Committee, for the interviews and those interviewed. Pray that God will guide us as we consider who He desires as the next Music Minister for FBC. I am very excited about the future and am confident in God providing for our needs. A section of our breezeway ceiling/roof is in need of repair and our Buildings & Grounds Committee is on the job. We are very blessed at First Baptist Church with a group of men who are knowledgeable and capable of tending to our facility needs. You may remember me giving the “Golden Hammer” award a few years ago to many of these guys for their work in remodeling our office suite. Others have joined them in recent years and I can’t thank them enough for their devotion to making our church the best it can be. Please be in prayer for all the children and their leaders who will be participating in our fall activities on Wednesdays with choirs and missions. Be in prayer for all the students who will be led by Eric and his volunteers in their Wednesday worship and Bible study. Please consider being a part of a Fellowship Meal Team and pray for all the workers who lead out in this vital ministry of our church. Be in prayer for our Adult Prayer Meeting and Bible Study – and COME if you haven’t been in awhile – it’s a great ‘re-fueling’ for the middle of the week. I don’t want us to forget about our Revitalization Plan and Pledge Campaign to pay back our CD! We are almost a third of the way finished with the 12 month payment plan. I hope you will remember to do your part in our efforts to revitalize our facilities. THANK YOU for what we’ve done so far which is pledged or one time gifts totaling $25,220. This is a great beginning and my prayer is that we will keep this momentum going so we can meet our goal in June of 2010.

HOPE FOR KIDS

and Potluck Meal Just a reminder about the Back to School Event this weekend. If you would like to help, we have two opportunities: Friday, 6:00 p.m., Elementary Cafeteria to bag the supplies. The more the merrier (and quicker)! Saturday, 9:00 - 1:00, Elementary Cafeteria to hand out supplies. I am unsure how many of our Elementary faculty will be attending, so if you want to stop by to see if help is needed, I would appreciate it. Call me at 386-5650, if you wish to volunteer. Tina

Time to Think Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.— William Arthur Ward To Act Rejoice, the future is full of promise. To Pray Lord, thank You for the tremendous difference you make in our lives.
