Atheism and Metaphysics A Tract Book Essay By Anthony J. Fejfar, B.A., J.D., Esq., Coif © Copyright 2007 by Anthony J. Fejfar Atheism really isn’t neutral about God, Agnosticism is. While atheists typically profess only to not believe in God, it is my experience that they go one step further and hate God as well as people who believe in God. Thus, as a Theist, I find Atheism to be an unattractive position. But, there is an alternative, what I call Aatheism. I invite all Atheists to consider becoming Aatheists instead. Aatheists typically follow the philosopher and metaphysician Plato as their guide. Instead of believing in God, an Aatheist believes in the Good, that is, the Individual Good, following individual autonomy, rational self-interest, self-actualization, and self-transcendence. Aatheists also believe in the immortality of the Soul because of the Myth of Ur, found in Plato’s Republic. Finally, more than anything else, Aatheists believe in the Metaphysical Quiddity of Being. Being is an Unrestricted Pure Act of Understanding, also known as Form of Form. For many, Being replaces God. Being is impersonal not personal. Being is Universal. Being can be Intuited and Felt spiritually. For the Atheist, then, making to move to Aatheism might be an attractive alternative.
