Written AssignmentUHV Introduction Apart from clinical care, health care is all about fulfilling people’s feelings and expectation. In this mechanized and information overloaded world, health workers sometime may overlook the need of feelings and replace it with machine like precision clinical care without feelings. This assignment will make student realize the value of human-to-human relationship and its ability to heal the body and mind of patients suffering from physical illness
Activity Talk to patients with terminal illness in palliative care ward about illness, purpose of life or the meaninglessness of life, what is/are the best thing and worst thing they did and how would they live if given a second chance. OR Talk to a patient with chronic illness (NCD or others) about illness, purpose of life or the meaninglessness of life what is/are the best thing and worst thing they did, cause of their illnessand how would they live if given a second chance. Based on the patient’s account analyze their thoughts and feelings from the perspective of natural acceptance, sensation and preconditioning and relate with health and disease and the principle of life and living (right understanding, relationship (right feeling) and physical facility). How important are these while we are living and how important is it towards the probable end of life.
Requirement This assignment requires clinical posting and interaction with the patients. During your clinical posting you will be provided a self-assessment form to work on yourself. It was provide as a guide for assessing yourself and when you have self-doubt use the selfassessment form to check where you are stuck. Lecturer will use the same assessment form during clinical posting and towards the end of your module to assess your transformation and you will be rated accordingly. Your written assignment will be graded using the following guideline.

Grading outline Introduction (15)– how you have developed relationship with the patient (process of getting to know the patient) and the patient’s story (using the nursing assessment format to write the patient’s bio-data) Content (20) – level of analysis – how well have you understood what the patient is going through? What are the origins of the patient’s feeling? How well have you related to the basic human aspiration. Use quotes from patient’s to emphasize patient’s feeling Conclusion (20) – conclude your analysis followed by introspection – what have you learned, what is the purpose of your existence? How would you relate your purpose of existence to achieve the basic aspiration? Total – 55
