Flow of Data The Data Flow of Applications and software goes to the processor which then decides where it goes within the RAM and then once the application is closed back into The Processor is the brain of the computer; it reads instructions from your software and tells your computer what to do with the application and where to temporarily store it within the RAM until it is closed. The RAM(Random Access Memory) temporarily stores applications and software such as programs which are running on the system including the operating system until the application is closed or the system is switched off, any data on the RAM is only temporarily stored and any changes to the data cannot be recovered if an unexpected shutdown occurs. The Backing Store is usually the internal hard drive within a system but can also be an external hard drive or even USB flash drives. This is where software and data is permanently stored unless changes are made. This is the starting point for which the
