About Ashdown Forest
About the Exhibition
Ashdown Forest in East Sussex is home to the Hundred Acre Wood, the fictional name for where Christopher Robin, Pooh and friends live. Within the Forest you can discover the real life places that were the inspiration for so many of the adventures enjoyed by Winnie-the-Pooh and Friends:
The exhibition focuses on the changing face of Ashdown Forest since the 1920’s, when E.H.Shepard first sketched the area. Many places remain much as they were then, some have changed, and others are a blend of imaginary and real Forest. The whole area is managed as an internationally important site for wildlife and is the largest public space in the South East. The exhibition celebrates the wonderful places known to so many through A.A.Milne’s classic stories. We hope you enjoy it.
