1.- What relationships can objects have with each other? Explain and give an example. Proximity, similarity and continuity. Proximity: elements of the picture are close to each other. Because of this, sometimes we cannot differentiate forms and we see as one, as a new shape. Continuity: elements are in the same direction and create a form.

Similarity: when the elements of a picture are similar. They have the same color, shape.. 2.- What items feature in our visual public environment? Give an example of some type of visual contamination in this environment. In our visual public environment, we can see: streetlamps, trees, litter bins, shops, benches, churches, cars, factories, parks, schools, etc. Here we have an example of visual contamination, it is a factory that creates a lot of pollution. Nowadays, we often see in the street some of this examples. A lot of cars on the road, factories, etc. Pollution is a factor that is present in our lifes.

4.- Give an example of each of the following: graphic and visual media, audio-visual media and sound media. Write down one characteristic typical of each.

Audiovisual media: Advertisements are made for sound and graphic supports with images and texts. This types of advertisements we can see in the television or films. Graphic and visual media

Sound media: There are messages that gi-ves the radio by radio-electric waves. This medium is cheaper than the other ones.

Graphic and visual media: media types that haven't got sound and express communicate ideas with nonmoving graphic images. They appear in magazines, newspapers, etc.

5.- Draw a character (or get on from Internet) with different-shaped speech bubbles or balloons. In each one, add the words. "Where are you going?". Briefly explain the different effects that each type of bubble makes. He’s talking alone.

In the first bubble, the lines that surround it, say us that he is talking alone, with himself. The second speech balloon expresses someone talking to another one, like we do it usually in a dialogue. When the person is thinking, the lines of the bubble are like the form of a cloud. Finally, the last speech balloon expresses a south (someone shouting, a strong noise,..)

6.- Look for a Nike logo in the links and express what it transmits in your opinion.

This logo is a tic, which we use to express something positive, something that is ok. With this logo, Nike wants to promote the sport, which is a very good activity to improve health conditions, and say yes to it. Sport is necessary!

7.- Look for three images that we may perceive differently if we take them out of context.

1. He is a young skater! 2. They are volleyball players! 3. It is a hippopotamus!

8.- Look at the comic and say which types of shots are the different pannels.

The first pannel have a long shot because we see the general place where the action happens. On the other hand, the second and third frames are medium full shots because the image is cut short above the knees. Frame number 4, is medium shot because the character appears cropped above the waist. Number 5 and 6 are full-figure shots (we see all the figure of the characters). Finally, number 6 is close-up because we see only the face of the person, giving maximum expression.

1.- What is a realistic drawing? How do we use lines in this type of drawing? A realistic drawing is a picture (a drawing) with elements within it, that express the true reality. The elements are very similar to reality and they have a high degrees of likeness. That is to say, elements are recognisable. Line is used to show the exact form of the shapes, as wee see them. The line creates the illusion of space, depth and volume. Because of this, line is the ideal element to represent shapes in realistic drawings.

2.- A line is an expressive element. What messages do different types of line transmit? Draw diagrams to go with your explanation.

Straight lines transmit us instability and aggression. However, curved lines produce movement, energy and vitality. Irregular lines express tension and irregular straight lines rigid. Finally, irregular curved lines express an effect of disorder.

3.- What are visual textures? Name three of them Textures that are generally seen, but rarely touched. Ornamental, accidental and mechanical texture.

4.- How can you use texture to organize and balance a composition? Using a texture we can put things in order, highlight areas of interests, transmit a sensation of depth or create a rhythm and movement. Order: textures can be organised from greater to lesser importance. Balance: we can make different shapes according to the weight

Rhythm and movement: rhythms are created when the uniformity of a surface is altered. Movement is created when a faster rhythm is combined with more than one element. Depth: we built up textures to draw shapes further or closer to us.
