Work Immersion Narrative Report: Day One

It is true that work immersion program was implemented to elevate ones’ skills, abilities and knowledge necessary work through exposing senior high students in different tasks and activities. With this, they can acquire needed competencies as they are stepping closer to the real world, to the world of work. We start our first day attending the weekly flag raising ceremony at the Auditorium of the Batangas Provincial Capitol, where all government employees were present. At around 8:00 am we head at the PEO and there we were been introduced on our preferred department. With all my luck I been at the Quality Control Department where our first duty was to construct an essay that will describe ourselves and shows what are our expectations to the department. And to give us inspiration on writing and also a glimpse of what are their job, Eng. Cesar shows us different machines and equipments used to measure standard of the materials that will be using for the construction and demonstrate proper instrumentation of tools. While during our free time we got opportunity to look for t works and read books about what are they already studied. And our first day with nervous turned into a day full of excitement, learning and

Work Immersion Narrative Report: Day Two and Three Work immersion continues and a lot of things were being discovered. On my second day I had my first ever site visit, we went at San Juan Batangas to monitor the ongoing construction of multi-purpose Barangay Hall. With this I learn the importance of reading the program and design of the project and why it is needed to get sample of material for testing if the contractor meets standard specification of material. The next day we visited 5 ongoing projects and a batching plant. Our first destination was Sahara Batching Plant where we inquire for possible the schedule of batching. Then monitoring of the ongoing construction of two storeys with six classroom at Leviste National High School in Lemery, at Pansipit Elementary School in Agoncillio, and at Alalum National High School in San Pascual and construction of open classroom both at Natunuan South Elementary School in San Pascual and Sumbat Elementary School in San Pascual.

Work Immersion Narrative Report: Day Four The exchange of knowledge wasn’t end as our work immersion supervisors continue to share their expertise and let we experience things that will motivate us to excel on what we’re doing. Engineer Castillo exposed us on different machines, both manual and automatic, described specifications and standards of materials that are going to use depending on the proposed program and the task, duties and responsibilities of engineers in following the quality control specs. They explain the significance of each equipment and discuss how it works. They are willing to share their knowledge and positively respond to every questions that we asked. They give us enough time for observation, so that we easily understand the process of how it works. And on my last day for the first week, I and Engineer Joy went at the ABC Batching plant for monitoring. She wasn’t selfish to explain the

Work Immersion Narrative Report: Day Seven to Day Ten On the final week of our stay in the Provincial Engineers’ Office, I do task more on office. Helping the secretary to find paper works and programs that are already done and those are still ongoing. I also cut for print out pass lips, and transferring data on book. I was also been socialize with other people as I asked for the initials of engineers in different departments, and also for asking for photo copies. Indeed the whole week is amazing and awesome; I never expect those kind of experience. I thought I would simply stay there and wait for my 80 hours requirement to be fulfilled but I was wrong, I was definitely wrong, because they share more than what I thought and allow us to experience a lot of things that prepares us to be ready to whatever we would take. The two weeks of learning and working might end but I always extend my gratitude to those who share their knowledge and experience without any doubts and hesitation. THANK YOU!
