Introduction to CAD software, All the commands in latest version of CAD in 2-D and their application to make drawings and working drawings. Detailed study of softwares used for drafting: Introduction to layers, editing techniques, printing and plotting. Drawing simple 3D forms. Detailed study of softwares used for making presentations and general administrative work: Preparation of text or documents by using word processor software. e.g. MS WORD, LOTUS WORDPRO etc. Analysis of collected data in the form of spreadsheets and its presentation through graphs, pie charts etc. e.g. MS EXCEL, LOTUS 123 etc. Preparing advanced presentations by making slide show using presentation software. e.g. MS POWERPOINT, MACROMEDIA DIRECTOR, PHOTOSHOP,

Course Objectives: After successful completion of this Course Prerequisites: • Building Construction and Materials - course, student should be able to: I • Understand the basic building elements, their function and behavior under various conditions with specific reference to ‘Load bearing Construction’ and simple non RCC frame structure. • Develop strong sense of intuition, understanding of the basic principles of construction and materials and develop analytical and logical sequence in thinking. Stress should be given on three-dimensional study and communicating the design / study through effective two and three-dimensional sketches and models, rather than words. Students are expected to complete the projects, with critical remarks and assessment from the counselor, during the semester.
