In Spanish there are 3 types of infinitives. They end in “ar”, “er”, and “ir” hablar – to speak comer – to eat These are some common regular verbs. vivir – to live We do not always use infinitives when communicating. Instead we conjugate these verbs. Conjugating means that we change the verb to agree with the subject. To conjugate a verb means to make a systematic list of all of its various forms. The stem of the verb is the infinitive minus the –ar, -er, or –ir (example: the stem of hablar is habl). Different endings are added to the stem for each subject.
