Bayland (Luis Contreras)
Race 9 - 6F $60K MSW This Steve Asmussen trainee started dead last and had all sorts of traffic troubles bearing inside in the lane and then dealing with being steadied late on. Despite the trouble, jockey Luis Contreras was pushed the horse on track to finish a hard-trying fourth. http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO042609CAN9.pdf

Up Up (Kirsta Carignan)
Race 10 - 7F - Oh what could have been. At 100-1, Up Up broke in air forcing jockey Krista Carignan to sit 12th of 14 runners in a seven furlong affair. Still tenth at the top of the stretch, Carignan rallied the Jim Day horse up for sixth in a tight finish with three necks and a couple spare lengths in front of her. At 100-1, I’ll take a little show action next time out. http://equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO041809CAN10.pdf

Master Michael (Ray Sabourin)
Race 3 - 5 1/2F - Steadied at the start, Sabourin tried to rail this one home down the stretch before angling out and finishing with conviction. The well-bet favourite was long gone, but Master Michael could break his maiden next time out. http://equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO041809CAN3.pdf

Home in Two (Patrick Husbands)
Race 2 - 6 1/2F - Husbands was patient with this one sitting next to last up to the half before moving into a stalking position at the stretch and chasing home the favourite. http://equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO041709CAN2.pdf

Montrose Avenue (EmmaJayne Wilson)
Race 5 - 5F - Favoured Montrose Avenue forgot to leave the gate but Wilson calmly held his run making a late move to finish fifth. The result was a lot closer than it appears on paper as he was beaten a head, 3/4, 3/4, and a neck. The strong gallop out suggests the favourite will win at next asking. http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO041209CAN5.pdf

Awake By Noon (EmmaJayne Wilson)
Race 2 - 5 1/2F - Awake By Noon was asleep at the start and bumped around at the break. Despite being 12th at the 3/8 pole, Wilson got the horse running hard and finished strongly in the stretch.
Caledon Cat (Chantal Sutherland)
Race 10, 5F - Caledon Cat languished lazily early on contentedly tenth at the top of the stretch before pouncing at the wire to finish third behind Wild Diamond and Trevon’s Glory. An extra furlong could see this cat nip a win next time out.

Bear’s Lightning (Eurico Rosa da Silva)
Race 7, 6 1/2 F - Bear’s Lightning was bumped at the break and used a good bit of energy to catch the pack along the rail. Da Silva moved to the rail late in the stretch and nearly caught an odd’s on favourite Closing Speed. http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO041009CAN7.pdf

Race 4, 5F - El Grande was steadied hard enough early on that Stein claimed foul against Chad Beckon and Big G by the Sea. The claim

Hello Moneypenn y (EmmaJayne Wilson)
Race 6, 5F - Taken hold early by Wilson, Hello Moneypenny saved ground on the rail before moving up to third position at the top of the lane and tipping out to miss by a neck. Solid effort at 14-1. http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO040509CAN6.pdf

Dick Whittington (Slade Callaghan)

April 17 R4 - 6 1/2
Doneraile Gem (Chantal Sutherland)
Race 3, 5F - Dead last at the top of the stretch, angled out and up for third with a strong finish. This one could be a diamond in the rough. http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO040409CAN3.pdf

Queen of the Castle ( Tyler Pizarro)
Race 5, 5F - Tenth of ten in the early running, this first time starter figured things out too late but made a great run deep in the stretch railing home to be fourth. http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pdf/WO040409CAN5.pdf
