With the breath of spring in the air, I’d like to report on some of the exciting projects and recent accomplishments here at Synergy. Most of you have probably heard about our great new product Encode. We had a tremendously successful rollout a few months ago at our very first San Francisco Regional. The always dynamic Dr. Ann De Wees Allen spoke about this product’s tremendous potential to support cardiovascular health in certain target populations. Encode defines Synergy’s mission of empowering people through health, wealth, and wisdom.

Keep on Keepin’ On pring in Utah is fickle. One day it’s balmy and mild, with snowy mountains looming in the distance and blue sky stretching to the horizon. The next day storm clouds build, the wind howls, and hail the size of canned hams peppers the ground. (OK, I’m exaggerating a little. Would you believe marble-sized hail?)

This is why such talented and motivated people are attracted to the business. They relish the excitement and thrive on the challenge. As for me, I love being around our distributors. They’re funny, full of life, and bursting at the seams with creative ideas and fresh approaches to the business.

We’ve added a raft of great new distributors in the East, including John GoPaul, Jeff Schneider, Patricia Kaye, and many others too numerous to mention. Distributors are the engine that make the company go. When we add ethical, sharp people, we maintain our reputation for integrity and truth. The essence of our business is trust, so the moral caliber of our distributors is critical. I’m proud to say that we have the highest level of distributor anywhere.

Ann Marie Eckl We’re fortunate to have such an incredible caliber of products at Synergy, products that help you live better. Dana Point, California From her earliest memories, Ann Marie Eckl knew that she would spend her life in one of the healing professions. Her mother had many health challenges, and she felt helpless as a child to make a difference. hen she found early on that traditional medicine didn’t have all the answers to her questions, she vowed to dedicate herself to the art of natural health and alternative medicine. With a background in traditional medicine as a nuclear medical technician, she went on to get her license in clinical nutritional consulting.

“My first-born son suffered from a variety of problems, none of which the doctors could heal or explain, so I began a personal hunt to discover how people can stay healthy,” Ann Marie says. “I read everything I could, went to seminars, and did everything possible to learn about natural ways of healing.”

Over the years Ann Marie sent lots of people to health food stores to purchase products that might bring relief. Emphasize Your Strengths Are your organizational skills top-notch, but you can’t really fire up a crowd? Are you a powerful, eloquent speaker, but so-so at organizing events? Do you excel at planning, checking off with feverish intensity every task on your daily to-do list, but perhaps lack a vision of the big picture? o one’s good at everything, but we often dismiss our strengths and emphasize our weaknesses. We don’t take advantage of what we’re naturally good at. Even if you’re a good employee, during employee evaluations your boss will take your strengths for granted and encourage you to seek out “opportunities for improvement.”

This is a mistake. Athletic teams are a good example of the value of playing to your strong points. No one is expected to be good at every position. A pitcher pitches, and the second baseman fields ground balls and hits fifth or sixth in the lineup. The quarterback practices throwing the ball, not catching it. Everyone does his job and contributes to the team’s success. Truly exceptional people rise to prominence by polishing their natural gifts and developing their unique skills. Imagine the waste of talent if Tiger Woods had decided to spend his time practicing the piano, instead of concentrating on golf, or if Hemingway had spent less time writing and more time learning the banjo. It takes

single-minded determination to rise above the crowd and attain true distinction. We all have innate abilities and Godgiven aptitudes. Some of us instinctively gravitate to numbers and math, some love to write or paint, and others enjoy fixing things and performing physical work. The key is to recognize what you like and you’re good at, then devote your time perfecting your gifts. Deep inside we all know what we like, and that’s usually what we’re good at, so it’s easy to immediately begin playing to your strengths. In network marketing, we often think we have to do it all by ourselves. This isn’t true. Network marketing is actually a team sport. It’s more like baseball than golf. You don’t have to carry the whole load. You have support. You have an upline, mentors, friends, help at every hand. You have the Synergy website with tons of information, brochures, flash presentations, and other ways to present the Synergy story. In your Synergy team, you need to identi-

fy who is good at what, and let these people work their magic. Let the silvertongued orators like Dianne Sharp Leavitt and Bill Heriford inspire the crowds with the Synergy story, while others stay in the background performing their important tasks. It’s all good—the revolutionary Mega-Match compensation plan allows everyone to benefit from success. The success of others is your success. Of course, every member of a team needs to possess certain personal attributes for the team to thrive. If someone is “naturally” lazy, undisciplined, or unmotivated, he or she needs to change. Unreliable and quarrelsome people don’t make good team members. For some people, the light never goes on, and nothing can ever lead them out of the darkness. If you have people like this on your team, get rid of them. Quit trying to be what you’re not. Spend your day capitalizing on your strengths. Stick to what you’re good at, and your Synergy team will reap the benefits of happier members, greater cooperation, and more success.

For example, we tell them ‘this is what you do the first 72 hours, and these are the events and trainings we want you to participate in the first 30 days.’ Above all, we teach them to share the opportunity, the products, and the belief.” With so many roles to play and numerous responsibilities in other areas of her life, Patricia knows she must focus like a laser on getting things done and making her Synergy career a success. “I try to work at least 15-20 hours a week,” she says. “I can’t stay out until 4 a.m. or work 70 hours a week. I have too much to do. But I’m creating a substantial business with focused time. This business is real and it’s working. I’m just grateful for the chance to be a part of the incredible Synergy story.”

Website Work Reaps Big Dividends In the past several months, a talented collection of computer gurus and software wizards has labored day and night to make Synergy’s web presence the best in the industry.

T

hese web warriors have retooled the Synergy corporate website and revamped the Business Manager.

Synergy is proud to report that all those sleepless nights and mounds of junk food have paid off big time. The corporate website is more attractive, more efficiently designed, and easier to use, and the Business Manager offers a host of new features and increased functionality. Advanced WebXpress is up and running, allowing distributors to better manage their Tracking Centers and maximize their opportunities. Synergy distributors are pleased with the results, and they have shown their trust by substantially increasing their website orders. The web traffic is up, and distributors have been able to use their time more productively to improve their business. A new and improved archive gallery is available this month, where you’ll be able to download past newsletters, brochures, images, and a host of other marketing tools. More great improvements are in the works. As soon as the computer guys get some shut eye and eat some healthy food (Including a full regimen of Synergy products), they plan on rolling out all the new improvements into every market and every language where Synergy has a presence. Another project on the horizon is the 2006 Convention website. Look for that soon!
