MEDICAL EQUIPMENT Medical Industry – Automated Filling Line- Powders Product used – PRT – PRECISION RING AND TRACK Multiple process filling applications are required to operate 24 hrs / day and provide total reliability along with high stopping accuracy. A Hepco Ring and Track system made totally out of stainless steel provided the ideal solution for this demanding application. This 10 metre long Ring and Track system incorporates 75 carriages which are linked together with adjustable length connecting rods and driven by a common scroll drive positioned one side of the system. This method ensures all carriages are indexed smoothly and accurately to the next filling station with no “lost” motion. Each carriage carries 4 glass bottles located onto a special fixture which is fitted to the carriage plate. A number of different operations take place at each work station, the one aspect that is common to each operation is the need to position the bottle within 0.025mm. The cycle is one of continuous indexing, stopping and starting in totally clean conditions. The Ring and Track System made out of stainless steel is ground all over for maximum corrosion resistance, an important aspect for any Medical application. Another key factor in the choice of this product is the need to run without the possibility of any contamination, hence the Ring and Track system is running totally dry, a condition very few systems can tolerate and still provide a 10 year service life.
