Animals A Pathfinder for Second Grade Writing a report about animals is a big job. It is important that you use facts in your report. We find facts in non-fiction books and on websites. It is a good idea to look for information in an encyclopedia first, and then to choose books about your animal to get facts. These are the important areas that a good animal report should have: •
Introduction – name of animal

What the animal looks like
•
Where the animal lives – its habitat
•
What kind of food the animal eats and how it gets its food
•
Ways the animal protects itself
•
How the animal has babies and how it cares for the babies
•
Interesting facts about the animal
