Name Andy Personal Information Nationality: British Age/DOB: Personal Profile I have just graduated from Leeds University with a BSc in Aviation Technology and am currently looking for a career in the Leeds area, preferably in the aviation industry although any profession would be considered – particularly customer services, bar work or catering, as these are what I have most experience in. (C), Psychology (C) Heathfield Community School 1996 – 2001 GCSEs: Maths (A), English Language (A), English Literature (A), Science: Double Award (AA), German (B), Graphic Design (B), History (B), Photography (B), Art (C), Religious Studies short course (1/2 a GCSE) (B) Employment History Golf Club 2000 – 2006 I have filled many roles during my time working at the Golf Club, which has club members, members of the public and also deals with large functions such as Wedding ceremonies and birthday parties. At first I was a waiter, providing a high level of service to golfers as well as members of the general public. I also worked in the kitchen, helping to prepare food and later worked behind the bar providing a face-to-face service with the customers. I have learned and developed many skills required for any future career. I am able to interact with customers from all backgrounds and understand their needs. This position has also given the opportunity to adapt to change instantly, working with

many new people and dealing with all sorts of situations as they arise. In the later stages of the job I also helped train up new kitchen staff, particularly waitresses, in how to deal with customers as well as how to serve and work well in their role. I am easily integrated into a team environment, and feel that I am a team player, something which is key to success in any position of employment. My position at the Golf Club has also allowed me to experience difficult customers, complaints and problems with customers. I have always found it pleasing to provide excellent customer service and leave customers pleased with our service and professionalism. Universities Air Squadron (YUAS) 2003 - 2006 As a volunteer reserve in the RAF, by being a member of UAS I worked towards the RAF pilot training scheme, completing another 45 hours of flying time on top of the flying completed with the University and partaking in many adventurous activities, including kayaking, hiking, abseiling and mountain biking. The flying training had a high learning curve and was to the standard that RAF pilots would fly to. I have also developed my multitasking and positive decision-making skills as a direct result of my flying experiences. I held 2 main positions of responsibility during my time in UAS. The first was second in charge of entertainments, which involved organising events such as our Summer Ball, a Christmas Draw and a Valentines Party. This meant I had to work very closely with other members of the entertainments team, as well as liasing with RAF officers and members of the general public. The second position was being second in charge of a “flight,” around 35 students, organising their flying timetables and generally helping with the day to day running of the squadron. With the help of RAF Officers I honed many skills required for a career in the Royal Air Force as well as being given a lot of responsibility to carry out particular tasks. This helped my leadership and communication skills and I now feel that I can comfortably lead a team of people to help get any job done. Personal Skills I am very computer literate and excel in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint although pick up most software quickly. I’m an extremely fast learner and feel I could integrate into most social situations easily. Overall I have the ability to integrate, communicate and work closely with people from different backgrounds. I feel I have important skills and experiences to share with others.
