WELCOME TO ANDALUSIA!
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this activity is to design and create a TOURIST BROCHURE showing the main aspects of the autonomous community where we live (Andalusia). The brochures will be sent to our pen pals (American students of Spanish at Millis High School) so that they can learn about Andalusia before the trip some of them are going to make to our community. WHAT IS A TOURIST BROCHURE? According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary a tourist brochure is a pamphlet or booklet, especially one containing descriptive or advertising material. WHAT DO TOURIST BROCHURES INCLUDE? Tourist brochures consist of both text and pictures. The language should be short and clear and the design should be attractive. WHAT INFORMATION SHOULD WE INCLUDE? Your brochures should have a title and they should also include all the elements you consider important for American teenagers who have never visited Andalusia. These are some aspects you can include: -
What is Andalusia? Location of Andalusia in Spain. Provinces (main features). Flag and emblems. Tourist resorts. Food.
Remember this is just an idea: feel free to include other topics! FORMAT: The brochures should be done on a DIN A4 card or poster board. They can be bi-folds (single sheets printed on both sides and folded into halves) or tri-folds (folded into thirds). Don’t forget to include your name and group!
