Analysis of FMS – 2004 There was a major change in the number of questions in verbal Ability and reasoning section. Though the total number of questions was same as last year: 175 questions to be attempted in 2 hours. The VA section is going to be a scoring section. As compared to last year questions in Quantitative ability section were bit tough. More priority was given to topics on algebra, clocks and calendar. The general knowledge section which had 2 questions, included in the DI section were found to be average. English 1. 40 questions were there on reading comprehension. This part was average. But the passages given were lengthy so this part of English was time consuming. 2. Sentence correction - 5 questions. 3. Passage building- 5 questions. 4. Fill in the blanks - 10 questions 5. Analogies - 5 questions. 6. Critical Reasoning-10 questions. Quantitative aptitude: As compared to last year, questions in this section were bit tough. More priority was given to topics on algebra. A number of questions ( 5 to 6 ) on clocks and calendar were present. Apart from this, the mathematics section mostly had questions on percentage and ratio - proportion and average. Data interpretation: From this area only 6 questions were asked. One tabular caselet was given which were of average difficulty level. Reasoning: Total 42 questions were there in this section of average difficulty level. . The reasoning section was a fair mix of both mathematical and verbal reasoning. The questions were mostly average, though a few questions could be considered tough. General Knowledge and Business Awareness: 2 Questions The paper was of an average difficulty level. Candidates who obtain an overall score of 340 to 360 can expect a call.
