An Operational Perspective
Penetration growth rates in Eurasian markets are among the highest in the world. Despite the current economic crisis, we see very little impact in Eurasia. Until now, this region has had very little industry press coverage and even less scrutiny from investors and analysts. The growth keeps coming, but how long will it last? This session will present an operational “on the ground” perspective of the mobile markets in Eurasia and explore the critical factors that are necessary for success.
• • • • • •
What is it about the Eurasian mobile market that makes it so attractive? Why are some operators struggling to gain a foothold? How are others spoiling the market by forcing ARPUs to record lows? What can we learn from the Turkish market experience in working in Eurasia? What is the most important aspect of the Marketing Mix when working in these markets? How do you maximize the talent with the team that you have vs. the team you would like to have?
19:45 MODERN MOBILITY Walt Behnke & Fırat Kasapoğlu Mobile Marketing, the Mobile Consumer and the Mobile Technology that made them. •

Is there a place for traditional media in our increasingly mobile world? With nearly everything in motion, can traditional media even locate, much less reach our essentially mobile consumer? A few years back many major Universities were requiring incoming freshmen to bring laptops to school. Now some are requiring Blackberrys and iPhones instead. With the consumer base set free in this way, they are no longer “tethered” to the traditional locations - like their homes - where traditional media once captured their attention. Since consumers are “on the move” should our marketing be following them; or should it be waiting for them at their destinations? With decades of experience in creating events, entertainment and consumer experiences, we’ll take a look at the challenges we face in this current landscape and we’ll touch on some of the solutions we envision for the future. As usual, we’ll provoke some tough questions, which we may or may not be able to answer but we’ll give it a try. Hopefully, we’ll have as much fun as one can in 15 minutes in the middle of an economic downturn.
