Nurturing a Church

striking similarities to the early days of a babe From the Editor’s desk

When I was thinking of a topic for this newsletter, the first and the foremost thought that came to mind was the ways in which our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus has been nurturing this Church since the day it was born. Our Lord who is perfect in all aspects (Deut 32:4) and full of Grace and Truth (John 1:14) has been shepherding us in the most loving and gracious manner possible. There are many striking similarities between the development of a new born and that of a Church. For instance, before the birth of a child, the family into which it is born prepares themselves to receive

their precious one into this world; likewise before a Church is formed, there is a level of preparation that takes place in the personal lives of the individual members of that Church. In a fetus, all structural foundations are laid within the first 12-13 weeks; similarly, the Church also lays the foundation for all its internal departments and faculties during the early ages of its formation. After development of the structural foundations, the fetus continues to grow those structures by absorbing nutrients from its mother; likewise the Church also continues to grow

and strengthen its faculties by living in obedience to the living Word of Christ. Finally just as a new born is ushered with joy into the lives of its expecting parents, the Church in its fullness of growth should bring divine joy to every brother and sister in Christ and become a beacon of light to the lost. This publication- 'Slingshot' is one such integral organ of Austin Gospel Church for which the foundation is being prayerfully laid in Christ. Along with the dissemination of information pertain to Church the main mission of this newsletter is to comfort,

encourage and to exhort every brother and sister in their battle against the powers that leads us away from the true light. Please remember in your prayers the team that brings you this newsletter. We will focus on addressing topics that brings about spiritual growth in the most effective manner. We have shouldered this responsibility

with none other than Christ himself; however, we need your prayers so that we may not stray away from the boundaries of His grace. In due time, it is my firm conviction that this vessel will be used mightily to spread the Gospel of love to the lost in a manner worthy to bring glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
