What Trip? • Team of CHP members are going on World Vision “Vision” Trip to KisongoMakiyuni ADP • Have had partnership with KisongoMakiyuni since 1996

• Visit ministries in Nairobi, Kenya

What will be doing in Kenya? Visiting Christian Ministries in Nairobi Experiencing a large African Urban Environment

In 2007, we visited: • Rafiki Village – School, Orphanage • Faith House – Home for teenage girls • Kibera – Largest slum in Kenya • Caroline for Kibera – Clinic, Relief organization • Powerful Change – Women living with HIV • New Life Clinic – Baby rescue, Orphanage • David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust – Elephant Orphanage

What will be doing in Tanzania? Visiting the ADP community, including: • Churches • Schools • Medical clinics • Development projects • Community leadership • Members of the community

Visiting sponsored children

In 2007, we visited: • Olarash Primary School – Teacher Home • Lendikinya Primary School – New classrooms • People Living with HIV Association (PLWHA) • Meserani Community Care Coalition • Meeting with sponsored children • Masaai Income Generating Group • Christian Children’s Groups • Mswakini Lutheran Church • Loosmongori Water Project • Mswakini Medical Clinic • Orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs) • Women of Hope

Joining the community in worship and prayer

Who will be on the team? • 11 slots on the team • Pastor James Kearney • 1-2 Team Leads • 8-9 other slots

• Ideally, diverse team of: • Experienced and New • Men and Women • Single and Married

2007 Africa Trip Team

What is required of team members? • Able to pay for or raise total cost of trip • Must attend 6-7 team building and training sessions between August and March (one meeting per month) • Participate in fund raising for the trip • Participate in trip debrief • Participate in presentation to congregation on trip • Work with team members to share what the team learns with the congregation • Must be willing to go through World Vision’s background check process and sign World Vision’s release forms

How much will it cost? Approximate Costs (Based off 2007 Costs): Travel: $1,880 World Vision: $900 Nairobi Lodging / Travel / Meals: $400 Visas / Vaccines: $550 Safari: $800 Other Costs: $90 (+ spending cash) Total: $4,620
