Advanced PhD Course in Strategic Management Doctoral School on Knowledge and Management Purpose: Department of Management, Policy and Philosophy (MPP) is offering this advanced doctoral course in Strategic Management as a possible extension to the course in Strategic Management offered through the European Doctoral School in Knowledge and Management (EUDOKMA). All course sessions are conducted in English. The course is targeted to PhD students and management researchers with interests in strategic management issues and who have developed their research efforts towards publication in international journals. Participants are required to submit a complete paper draft by November 15, 2005. The course provides a collegial forum to discuss the further development of papers submitted by individual course participants. In addition to direct feedback from the class audience to submitted paper drafts there will be class sessions devoted to discussions of fundamental requirements for scientific publication in the strategy field rounded off with commentaries from senior editors of leading academic journals. The course consists of four half-day class sessions on Monday and Tuesday. The final course outline might be subject to changes. Acceptance into this course requires advance submission of a paper draft of sufficient quality to serve as the basis for editorial comments during the course. The papers may also be submitted on competitive basis to the strategy conference held December 14-15. Students registered for the advanced strategic management course can extend the learning experience by attending the conference sessions and social activities over the subsequent two days against payment of an additional registration fee.
