Access road decision put on hold 2009/10/28 SHAH ALAM: People who have bought units at the Paramount View Condominium will have to wait for another oneand-a-half months to find out whether an access road to the project can be built. The Shah Alam High Court was supposed to have delivered its verdict on a suit filed by the developer today but the case has been postponed to Dec 15. Developer Sri Aman Development Sdn Bhd had filed a suit against the Petaling Jaya City Council, claiming that the council had given approval for the access road, Jalan SS1/25, to be built but had later revoked it and issued a stop-work order. This has caused a delay in the issuance of the certificate of fitness (CF) for the condominium which was completed last year. Paramount View pro tem committee member Jason Loh said the buyers want the issue to be resolved soon. "We want the issue to be settled with the court's decision. This is because the council will only issue the CF upon completion of the access road and we hope that there will be no other issues which will further delay the CF." Loh said buyers were facing problems as they had to service their loans for the condominium units while paying rental for their current accommodations. "Some of the leases are ending and the buyers have to find another place to stay. We have couples who bought their units as their new home but now have to delay their wedding because of all these problems." Neighbouring residents have also objected to the project. They claimed that the construction work had caused damage to their houses. They have asked for compensation from the developer. -- By Nuradzimmah Daim Write to the Editor for editorial enquiry or Sales Department for sales and advertising enquiry.
