PROJECTS The project shall be based on a biological question which can be answered using already-existing or in-house bioinformatics tools. A list of suggested topics is available. below but you may also choose your own, subject to approval.

The project’s grade will be based on a written report (see below) and a 15-minute presentation to the class. The grade will not be based on whether you produced exciting or positive results but rather on intelligent use of the correct online Bioinformatics tools & databases or development of meaningful databases & tools. WRITTEN REPORT

A good project report will include the following: • Background to the problem. • Clear definition of the problem. • Description and justification of data sources. • Explanation and justification of methods of data analysis. • Description of results of analysis. • Conclusions based on results. • Possible directions for future research. • Full list of references. You should aim to keep your report to within 40 pages. It may
