Remote tripping coil The remote tripping unit is operated by a magnetic coil. Some motors have a thermostat sensor in their windings that actuates a contact in case of excessive heating. This contact would close the coil circuit of the tripping unit and mechanically release the thermal overload relay. Suitable for use with AC or DC applications. Remote reset coil For safety reasons, the remote reset coil is most often used with manual reset. Sometimes the contactor and the thermal overload relay are not accessible, such as in flame-proof enclosures. The reset coil unit permits easy reset by a pulse on the built-in coil. Suitable for use with AC or DC applications.

Overload relay selection The overload relay selection should be based on the motor nameplate full load current (FLA) so that the range selected includes the FLA rating and service factor adjustment if desired. The overload relay dial should be set on the actual nameplate FLA for motors with a service factor of 1.0 and may be set at 1.15 times the FLA rating for motors with a 1.15 service factor. When installing the relay, set the adjustable dial to the FLA of the motor using a phillips head screwdriver.

Thermal overload relays T ... DU are 3 pole with manual or automatic reset. The reset button can also be used for disconnection. The integrated auxiliary contacts are physically separated and are therefore suitable for two different circuits (control circuit, signalling circuit). All relays are equipped with a component for temperature compensation and phase failure protection. All overload relays up to size T75 DU are finger protected. Terminal shrouds are available for relays size T80 DU up to T900 DU/SU. Connecting terminals are delivered in open position, with pozidrive (±) screwhead and screw-driver guide.
