GENERAL INTRODUCTION The Ande-Ande Lumut (AAL) heavy oil field is in the North-West Natuna Production Sharing Contract (PSC) as shown in Figure 1-1 the block is in Indonesian waters in the South China Sea. The water depth is 73 m. The block covers some 4,400 sq. km. There is presently no other infrastructure in the PSC.

Figure 1-1 Location of Ande Ande Lumut Field

AWE intend to develop the field using a single fixed conventional steel-framed wellhead platform (WHP) producing to a spread-moored Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility for processing, storing and offloading the crude. The FPSO is to be close-moored and bridge-linked to the WHP. The WHP is to be a normally unmanned facility with production and utility interconnects to/from the FPSO provided by flexible umbilical/flowline in a suspended catenary arrangement. Production wells will in general be designed for dual completion within a single conductor. The FPSO will be moored so that the bow is orientated into the most severe environmental conditions, which is the North East monsoon. A general arrangement of the complex as conceptually envisioned is shown in Figure 1-2.

SCOPE This Piping Standard details provides details of design arrangement for any pipes and its component to achieve optimum and good practice of engineering design. When discrepancy happened the most stringent standard will be used.

GENERAL NOTES

2.0

2.1

AAL01-000-25-55-SP-0004 Rev.A1

Minimum pipe run size on the rack shall be 2”.

Threaded and socket weld connections are acceptable only for non hydrocarbon services. All 1-1/2” and smaller bore piping with rating 150# and above in hydrocarbon services will have “BW” connections only and “SW”/”SCRD” connection are not acceptable.

Where threaded pipes and fittings are used, the threaded nipples shall be a minimum of schedule 160.

Where thermowells are required to be installed in lines smaller than 4”, the line shall be increased locally to 4”.

Double block and bleed requirement, Integral double block and bleed valve requirement shall be referring to documents AAL-000-00-55-PH-003.

For horizontal end suction centrifugal pumps, the preferred straight length is 5D but in no case shall be less than 3D.

Y-type strainers shall be limited for sizes up to 6” and 300# rating, and T-type for all sizes and classes for process systems.

Chain operators will only be supplied for operating valves 3” and larger, where access from grade or platform cannot be provided. They can be used on all valves supplied with handwheels. Valves should be located such that the chain does not obstruct passageway. Do not use chain operator on lever-operated valves.

It should be noted that stub-end are manufactured to different standards, the most common of which are MSS and ANSI B16.9.designers are to ensure the correct dimensional data is used to comply with the standard quoted in the piping specification.

High points of all lines shall be provided with a ¾” (minimum) vent.

Low point drain shall be provided as below: Line Size

STANDARD PIPE SPACING (ASME B16.5) General Notes for Line Spacing class 150, 300, 600, 900 and 1500 as follow: 1. Add insulation thickness for insulated lines and flanges. 2. Side movement due to expansion of hot lines must be allowed for and spacing increase accordingly. 3. Variations from the above, such as heavier flanges, special line equipment, and anchors etc., the spacing may be modified. 4. For un-flanged, un-lagged lines, the minimum clearance between OD of pipe shall be 25mm. 5. All dimension are in millimeters, expect as noted.

Notes: 1. The above chart should be used to check minimum spacing’s for pipes on clamped shoes. 2. Additional allowance must be made for thermal expansion, external displacement, pipe flanges etc. 3. For pipes with insulation greater than 50mm, spacing must be increased to suit. 4. The above spacings are based on 50mm clearance between outside edge of clamp and OD of pipe. 5. Spacings above are taken from centerline of pipe.

Notes: 1. Drill and tap ½” NPT through reinforcing pad only. Test hole(s) shall remain open until the completion of pressure testing and shall be packed with heavy grease after testing. 2. If reinforcing pad is made of two pieces, provide test hole to each piece. 3. Pad material shall be the same material as run pipe unless specified otherwise on isometric drawings. 4. When two or more branch connections are so closely spaced that their reinforcement zones overlap, the distance between centers of the openings should be at least 1-1/2 times their average diameter, and the area of reinforce between any two openings shall be not less than 50% of the total that both require. 5. For branch type selection please refer to “Piping Material Class” Specification document. 6. All branch connection welds shall be visually examined from the root side to ensure that proper penetration and fusion have been achieved. 7. The pad should be positioned so that the top of the pad extends an equal distance from the outside surface of branch on either side of the branch. 8. Construction CONTRACTOR shall select Seam-B only when Seam-A is impractical due to large branch size. 9. Reinforcing pads and pad segments on pressure connections shall be tested with air at pressure 2 of 4.2 – 7.0 kg/cm g and a bubble test solution shall be applied to inspect all welds. A five minutes hold period is required after isolating the pressurized pad from the pressuring source. During the hold period, leak detection fluid shall be applied to all accessible weld surfaces. No pressure drop and no leaks are permitted.

DISTANCE BETWEEN WELDS The minimum distance between any two welds shall be the greater of 6 x pipe wall thicknesses or 50 mm. the minimum distance shall be measured between the toes of the weld refer to the picture below. In the event that distance between welds cannot be maintained, these shall be reviewed on case by case basis and approved by the material engineer and metallurgist before implementation.

Notes: 1. Dead-end platforms greater than 7 m long are prohibited where such dead-ends are in escape routes or where it may be reasonably anticipated that, because of confusion arising from an emergency or panic situation, an individual might select an escape path which would lead to a dead end. 2. Toe plate shall be provided on the edges of all platform areas and around platform openings, except at the platform entrance and exit location. 3. Standard hand railing shall be provided on open sides of all platform areas and stairs. 4. Ladders shall generally be arranged for side exit; however step-through is permissible with COMPANY approval. 5. Ladders which are located at, or extend 6.1 m or more above deck or platform shall be provided with safety cages. Ladders which are located at, or extend less than 6.1 m above deck or platform shall be provided with top rail hoops only. Ladders which are located at, or extend less than 2.1 m above deck or platform do not require a top railing hoop. Cages shall extend down to a point not less than 2.15 m or more than 2.45 m above the base of the ladder. 6. Self-closing gates and top rail hoops shall be provided across ladder openings at all landings except for ladders located at or less than 2.1 m above deck or platform. 7. Clear climbing space is defined as the climbing area clearance for caged ladders and shall be provided throughout the length of the ladder. 8. Adequate tube removal area shall be provided for all exchangers that require bundles to be removed. 9. Horizontally installed wrench operated plug, ball or butterfly valves shall be positioned so that the wrench and the wrench movement arc is at no point in an access way or escape route. 10. Maintenance access platforms are required for vertical shell and tube exchangers with flanged covers more than 3.7 m above deck or platform. 11. 800 mm preferred for tertiary access. 600 mm to 800 mm is acceptable in congested areas with COMPANY approval. 12. Trolley width +300 mm and truck width +900 mm. 13. 600 mm x 600 mm applies for access to cofferdams and tanks from floor/platform. 14. 900 mm – 1500 mm for valves in daily use and where access in an emergency is required. 15. 700 mm – 950 mm in congested areas with COMPANY approval. 16. If there is a conflicting requirement, the more stringent shall comply.
