Aadhaar Laying foundations for Budding Entrepreneurs
2nd April 2009 i.e Thursday An exclusive opportunity to interact with young serial Entrepreneurs who have a portfolio of more than 10 successful companies. In our continuous effort to work towards our vision at Nirmaan ‐ Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship Development (COE‐ED) to foster & nurture Entrepreneurship among our students, we have invited two Serial Entrepreneurs from Morpheus Venture Partners to do a talk show on Entrepreneurship and to conduct a workshop on writing Business plan (B‐Plan). The experts will also have an Informal one‐to‐one interaction with passionate future entrepreneurs whose ventures are in idea stage (not started, but want to really start) or 1‐12 months into the operation. The goal of the exercise will be to discuss your idea together and suggest the ways and means to launch it. They would also introduce you to relevant people in their network who can add value ‐ potential partners, experienced people in similar domain, potential investors etc.
Highlights of the Programme: • Guiding students on preparing Business Plans (B‐Plan). • Detailed one to one discussion on students’ Entrepreneurial Ideas which have the potential of an early launch. • Introducing shortlisted students to potential partners and investors About TiE: TiE’s mission is to nurture and facilitate entrepreneurship. While TiE started with the IndUS community in mind, it is an inclusive entity that welcomes persons from all walks of life. Today, TiE has become a powerful network of word wide influence and is growing at a breathtaking pace. TiE Members are entrepreneurs and professionals numbering over 12000 members in 53 chapters worldwide. While TiE Chandigarh is part of an international network of entrepreneurs and support services, it has a distinct character resulting from the business culture of the region. This culture focuses on innovation, as well as inclusiveness, and characterizes the Chandigarh economic development scene About MVP:
Morpheus Venture Partners (MVP) runs a business advisory and mentoring programme for startups. MVP currently has portfolio of more than 10 companies. Some of the companies are: Instablogs, Commonfloor, Lifemojo, Fachak, Crederity, Deskaway, Sutra etc. Sameer Guglani and Nandini Hirianniah are the founding partners at MVP (Morpheus Venture Partners). Both of them started their first venture Madhouse Media in 2004. Madhouse was one of the first organized movie rentals players. They successfully exited the venture with the acquisition by Seventymm in July 2007.
About Nirmaan: Nirmaan ‐ Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship Development (COE‐ED) was founded by a group of “students turned successful entrepreneurs”, corporate executives and faculty members with roots in the Lovely Professional University. Nirmaan's mission is to foster entrepreneurship among its students through mentoring, networking, and education; dedicated to the virtuous cycle of wealth creation and giving back to the community. Nirmaan's focus is on generating, developing and transforming entrepreneurial dreams into reality. .

Part 2: Workshop on writing Business Plan Creating Business Presentations and pitching your venture to people is an essential part of a startup founder’s job. The audience can be angel investors, VCs, potential partners, potential employees, potential acquirers, bar-campers, OCC guys etc. The speakers has worked through quite a lot of presentations, has worked on a number of presentation / pitches with start-up founders and of course did more than 30 versions of the business presentation and 80+ pitches for madhouse. Their experience would be your advantage. Part 3: Startup Roadies Programme They absolutely love to meet passionate future entrepreneurs whose ventures are in idea stage (not started, but want to really start) or 1-12 months into the operation. The interaction will be completely informal. Formal dresses are not a must; we want to see you as your natural self, no need to bring any presentations or any financial projections. Just come have a chat with us. Get a demo if possible; get all members of your founding team. Just ensure that you arrive on time The goal of the exercise is to together discuss your idea, figure the best way to launch it in a small way, so that you can get started. Let’s explore solutions to some of the “tough issues” you are dealing with. We could do that by offering advice and potential solutions based on our experience. They would also love to introduce you to relevant folks in their network who can add value - potential partners, experienced people in similar domain, potential investors etc. At their end they are just excited to get an opportunity to meet you and learn from your experience and ideas.
