A Night out on Everest Dinner Friday 9 October 2009, 6pm until 11pm Federal Golf Club, Gowrie Drive, Red Hill Canberra Join us for a memorable night of high inspiration. As well as raising funds for our education, health and environmental projects in the Himalaya, we'll be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the successful 1984 First Australian Everest Expedition. The evening will be hosted by Australian Himalayan Foundation representatives Geoff Bartram OAM (a member of the '84 Everest Expedition) and Zac Zaharias (a member of the '88 Everest Expedition), and our MC for the evening will be AHF Chairman Simon Balderstone. Members of both the 1984 and 1988 Australian Everest expeditions will be present on the night. The evening will feature: Greg Mortimer, OAM, Member of the 1984 Australian Everest Expedition and the first Australian to summit Everest and K2, and Pat Cullinan SC, OAM, summiteer from the second Australian ascent of Everest in 1988. Pat was awarded a Star of Courage for rescuing a dying climber from the summit of Broad Peak in Pakistan.
