Atlanta, GA 30331 Phone: (404) 346.6500 Fax: (404) 346.6510 Dear Eighth Grade Parents and/or Guardians: The end of the year is fast approaching and we are in the process of finalizing our celebratory activities. At this point, you should have already signed a contract and paid dues for your child. If your child has not paid dues and is planning on participating in any of the activities, the final deadline is Friday, April 25, 2008. NOTE: STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY ACTIVTIES IF THEY HAVE NOT PAID DUES AND ALL FINES OWED TO THE SCHOOL (i.e. textbooks). FURTHERMORE, ANY STUDENT MAY BE REMOVED FROM ANY OR ALL 8TH GRADE ACTIVITIES AT THE DISCRETION OF AN ADMINISTRATOR FOR DISCIPLINE REASONS. Scheduled Activities: •

Wednesday, May 14, 2008- Picnic-9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Sandtown Rec. Park.

Students will eat lunch and participate in activities at the park. •

Friday, May 16, 2008- Dance- 7:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m., Jag Café.

Reminders for the dance: -NO LIMOUSINES WILL BE ALLOWED. -Attire – Students’ outfits are to be semi-formal in nature. This includes gracefully stylish dresses or suits for young ladies. A well dressed young man may wear a suit or slacks with a dress shirt – jackets and ties are optional. Tuxedos, floor length gowns, halters, and/or strapless gowns are NOT allowed. All in all, attire choices should be in accordance with school dress code policy. These attire rules will be strictly adhered to and enforced (Appropriate dress will be determined by an administrator). Any student not in compliance will be sent home and/or not permitted to enter the dance. •

Thursday, May 22, 2008- Eighth Grade Awards Ceremony, 9:00 a.m. Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral, 212 Riverside Pkwy SW, Austell

All students must arrive by 8:00 a.m. Please note: We will have a bus to provide transportation for students who will not have parents attending. However, the amount of spaces for the bus are limited, therefore you must pre-register for a seat. Please complete the registration form in order to reserve a seat for your child. Attire for the ceremony – white dresses for young ladies and black suits for young men.
