REACTION: Individual risk of surgery generally depends on age, general health, specific medical conditions, and heart function. The incident of surgical procedure is the following: traumatic injuries, cancer, and cardiovascular disease continuing to rise. Most of the countries doesn’t have a safety surgical checklist that’s why WHO (World Health Organization) recently revealed, adding that surgical care is now a serious public health concern around the globe. It was applied in the middle of this year and WHO officials noted decline in deaths and complications as seen in 1,000 patients’ who underwent operations in eight pilot sites. That’s why many surgeons are carefully done the safety checklist procedure here in the Philippines and also the surgical checklist was tested at the PGH in manila from April to July 2008. Dr. Teodoro Herbosa of the surgery and trauma division of PGH also participated in the development of the WHO safety checklist.
