Everyone knows that being a soldier is a dangerous job, but some of the tasks that soldiers are required to do are more dangerous than others. Walking through minefields, deactivating unexploded bombs or clearing out hostile buildings, for example, are some of the most dangerous tasks a person is asked to perform in the line of duty.

Who, where, when, why, how? TALON Responder is designed specifically for public safety, fire and rescue organizations. It provides the same rugged, high-performance, fast-responded capabilities of the military version of the robot, but at a cost that addresses the budget realities law enforcement and first responders face today. Responder includes a disruptor-ready manipulator arm, wrist and gripper; three infrared illuminated color cameras and a laptop controller with gamepad controls. The laptop controller allows operation of TALON Responder from a safe distance -- up to 4,000 feet (1,200 meters).

Military robots in the future Military robots are autonomous or remote-controlled devices designed for military applications. Such systems are currently being researched by a number of militaries. Already remarkable success has been achieved with unmanned aerial vehicles like the Predator drone, which are capable of taking surveillance photographs, and even accurately launching missiles at ground targets, without a pilot. Which are designed to carry out strike missions in combat.
