Devon Case Study – Community Sport

Increasing participation

“5 X 30”

Why was it important for us to get involved? Sport England wanted to support this project as, although it works with the whole population, it specifically targets people with mental health issues, people aged 50 and over, vulnerable young people, the overweight or obese and those on low incomes. What is 5X30? 5X30 is the physical activity of a health promotion project, which encourages and supports people to be more active in their everyday life. The title of the project is derived from the World Health Organisation's recommendation that you should do at least 30 minutes of physical activity 5 times a week.
