1. Discuss in detail about transient stability and steady state stability of Power system. 2. Derive from fundamentals the stator and rotor voltage equations of synchronous machine from ‘abc’ frame of reference to ‘dqo’ reference frame. 3. Draw the block diagram of IEEE excitation system and derive state equations. 4. Using small signal analysis obtain stator algebric equations and rotor mechanical equations in linearised form. 5. Give a philips heffron model of SMIB system and discuss the stability using Routh Hourwitz criteria. 6. Explain the concept of synchronizing torque and damping torque as applied to SMIB system. 7. Mention the state space equation for SMIB system and discuss the effect of AVR on system stability using eigen value approach. 8. What are contributions of high gain AVR and discuss the role of PSS in improving the dynamic performance of Power system. *****
