Spectrally efficient system High network capacity A nominal data rate of 100 Mbit/s High quality of service for next generation multimedia support An all IP, packet switched network
COMPONENTS: 1. Access Scheme: The access techniques can be enhanced by using the new scheme like Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) for downlink and interleaved FDMA (IFDMA) for uplink. 2. IPv6: To support large number of wireless-enabled devices. 3. Advanced Antenna Systems: To achieve long range communications. 4. Software-Defined Radio (SDR) APPLICATION: The “killer application” of 4G is not clear, though the improved bandwidths and data throughput offered by 4G networks.
