SCHOOL SPIRIT KNOTS A School Spirit Knot is a 3-strand braid that is approximately 4 feet long and made of yarn. These are good class or buddy projects. You will need either a 2 ½ foot piece of cardboard, or a packing box that measures approximately 60 inches around ( more or less) or 2 chairs that are set up 2 ½ feet across from each other. Wind the rubber band 3 times around one end. Have a friend hold that end and evenly divide the yarn into three groups. Firmly braid the yarn. Wind the second rubber band around the finished end. Trim each end evenly. For a two-color braid, working one color at a time, wind Super Saver around the cardboard, box or chair backs, 90 times. Wind the rubber band 3 times around one end.
