INTERVIEW Mr. Piyush Dhingra (Executive Director KITE-SOM)

Editor’s Notepad… We feel a great pleasure to present the first edition of newsletter ‘ARROWHEAD’ of Kautilya Institute of Technology and Engineering (KITE).In the last four years, the institute has endeavored to refine the academic standards so as to sustain the society with vibrating, energetic and enthusiastic team of technocrats. To exist and excel over others there is a great need to be versatile. The institute has been organizing its technical and cultural fest ‘ABLAZE’ to provide an outlet to the inherent energies of the budding technocrats. The dictionary defines a newsletter as an information sheet, newssheet, bulletin or circular. We have not restrained ourselves to the literal sense of the term ‘Newsletter’; rather have imbued it in its spirit. It will prove a means to reflect budding engineers’ innovative ideas and will acquaint the reader with ongoing campus activities. The standard of the contents is based on the input of the people who comprise the institute. The key lies in the forming the self; because it is the zeal, the enthusiasm and of course the knowledge within, which is reflected in what one writes on one’s own. True success of a newsletter lies in its reflecting power, not only within even beyond the boundary of its circulation. The initiation is commendable and aspires for vigilant readers as well as writers to contribute the literary aspect of the newsletter. In the present edition, a series TechTackle is introduced. Its yours comments and suggestions which would help us improve and adapt our efforts for bringing out better and enhanced issues of ‘ARROWHEAD’.

 What was your main motto behind opening an engineering college? My main motto behind opening an engineering college was to contribute towards the development of the society through the dynamism and professionalism of enthusiastic engineers.  Tell us about your experience so far in this college. How hard was it for you to set up such a big engineering institute from scratch? It came as a challenge for us, but once accepted, we imbibed the values and nourished our spirit to touch upon the best possible avenues.  According to you, where does our college stand at present among the other private engineering institutes in Jaipur? Among the mushrooming number of engineering colleges, we have reckoned ourselves as a premier institute to impart technical education.  Where do you see the college 10 years down the line? My vision is to sustain such standards and providing such amenities so as to twin the institute into an IIT.  We are observing a frequent change in faculty these days. Any reason? The top corporate like Reliance, L & T etc. in India are also facing the same problem as there is a great demand of professionals in the market. Still compared to others, you will find that the stability ratio of the faculty members in KITESOM is much more satisfactory.  Why is the college tagged as a pioneer institute in Civil Engineering only? What about the other branches? We have been the first to initiate Civil Engineering branch in private sector, still we have been running successfully other branches. Moreover, we have also started with and successfully running management courses like MBA.  What will be the effects of affiliation of the college under RTU? How helpful will it be to the students? All professional courses in Rajasthan are now transferred to RTU, and I welcome it as it was needed to have a separate body to govern more than 100 professional institutes of Rajasthan.  What changes do you see in the first batch and current batch of students in the college? The students of the first batch performed excellently in multifarious events. As ‘Well begun is half done, we cherish the better prospects with the present batch.

 Your message to the students of KITE-SOM. Umesh Gupta Niraja Saraswat

My message is that “Our dreams are ours alone and it is but our choice to stand by them. Let us try to be honest to ourselves for then and then alone, can we offer the best we have to what we do.”
