Project No. 3142 - Michigan Barton Dam Project City of Ann Arbor August 4, 2009 Mr. Alfred A. Gatta City Administrator City of Ann Arbor 100 North FiRh Avenue Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104 Dear Mr. Gatta: As discussed with Mr. Sumedh Bahl of your staff, a special environmental inspection of the Barton Dam project will be conducted September 16, 2009. I will be accompanying Ms. Margaret Sullivan, FERC project engineer. Along with Ms. Sullivan, I will meet with Mr. Bahl and other participants at the City Water Treatment Plant, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time, on September 16, 2009. The special environmental inspection will not affect the dam safety inspection. The purpose of the special environmental inspection is to monitor, evaluate, and ensure continuous compliance with the Article 2 requirements of your exempted project. Please arrange to provide me with the flows in cfs, and elevations at the project at the time of this site visit. I am sending copies of this letter to interested state and federal agencies so that they can make arrangements to participate in the special environmental inspection or to mail me written comments, if they desire.
