The Road World Championships will take place from 22nd to 27th September in Mendrisio (Switzerland), the main town in the southern-most region in Canton Ticino; it is on the important road link leading from the St.Gothard Pass towards Italy. Set between two mountains with wonderful views, Monte San Giorgio, on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2003, and Monte Generoso, Mendrisio is the seat of the Academy of Architecture and has an interesting historical centre. th In 2009 this charming town and Canton Ticino will welcome the 76 edition of the UCI Road World Championships.

1. HOW TO REACH MENDRISIO

4. REGISTRATION FOR NATIONAL FEDERATIONS

Each National Federation has received a “login” and a “password” in order to register their riders, officials and accompanists directly via the website: www.uci.ch All entries should be received by: -

9th September 2009 : for all categories except for Men Elite th 16 September 2009 : for Men Elite

Any Federations that do not have Internet connection can contact the Road Department to determine how to register their riders.

5. VISAS

For National Federations who need a Visa, an official invitation issued by the Mendrisio OC is required. Media/TV/Radio, UCI teams and organisers, future World Championships organisers, UCI sponsors have received a “login” and a “password” in order to request accreditation directly via the Internet: http://uci.wingsmedia.it Opening date: 13th July 2009 Closing date for on-line accreditation request: 10th September 2009 Some accreditations give access to the UCI Lounge. The UCI Lounge area is a privileged space of meetings whose access is reserved to the family of cycling. th th Located on the start/finish site, it is open on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, during the competitions.
