Golden Triangle Concert Series The first “Golden Triangle Concert Series” is a collaborative effort with the Villages of Minster and New Bremen bringing Sunday evening open-air concerts to southwestern Auglaize County. Beginning on Sunday, May 31 and continuing through August 30, music will fill the air from the Centennial Park gazebo in Minster or the Crown Pavilion in New Bremen. The concerts will begin at 6:30 pm in New Bremen and 7:00 pm in Minster. Kicking off the 2009 season on May 31, Walt Schmitmeyer and the Moonliters will take to the stage in New Bremen with everything from country to western to pop and standards. This popular group has been a favorite and shows no sign of slowing down. Walt says, “since the Crown Pavilion was originally used as a dance location at Indian Lake, we should keep the tradition going with plenty of open-air dancing on Sunday nights.” The following Sunday, June 7, Mary Knapke returns to the Centennial Park gazebo in Minster with her special blend of smooth vocals and jazz accompaniment. Her performance will begin at 7:00 pm. Timmy G from Sidney brings the June 14 program to the Crown pavilion beginning at 6:30 pm. Timmy has entertained all over the area for many years and enjoys getting his audiences involved throughout the show. On June 21, it’s a banjo serenade with the Right Time Riverboat Rats performing in Minster. Formerly known as the Kettering Banjo Society, these folks can bring new life to almost any tune by strumming it up on the banjos. The “Golden Triangle Concert Series” is presented by the parks and recreation departments in the villages of New Bremen and Minster.
