Thank you for your interest in Mission: SOS! Please look through all three pages of this application thoroughly before answering any questions. Please turn in this application no later than 3:00 PM on May 20, 2009 to Mr. Larsen's office. The Executive Board will then assess each application and notify select candidates for an interview. Within a week after the interviews, the 2009-2010 Mission: SOS officers will be announced via e-mail. If you have any questions regarding this application or Mission: SOS in general, feel free to e-mail us at [email protected]. Officer positions: P r e s i d e n t : The Mission: SOS president is responsible for overseeing the organization. S/he is the liaison between the entity's different committees, the Executive Board, the student body, the faculty, and the administration. From various meetings to events, the president has the task of steering SOS in the direction of achieving its mission. The president is also accountable for ensuring that SOS is represented well at MSJ and a key player with ASB in planning events and making decisions. V i c e P r e s i d e n t : The VP and President share many similar responsibilities. Specifically, the VP is responsible for keeping the student body (Smoke Signal, Facebook), faculty (through the monthly community newsletter), and the community informed of SOS news. S e c r e t a r y : As secretary, you will be held responsible for taking minutes during board meetings, and maintaining all members' contact information. You will also make sure all written records of SOS activity are in order, and will be going to Council meetings every Wednesday on behalf of the organization. The secretary may also be asked to update or notify members of upcoming meeting dates or event information. T r e a s u r e r : The SOS treasurer is responsible for keeping track of the SOS school account, act as a liaison between Mission Possible account and the leadership team. The treasurer is also responsible for filling out fundraising documentation and submitting proposals to the business office for approval. A monthly financial report should be compiled for monthly Board meetings. P u b l i c R e l a t i o n s O f f i c e r : The PR Officer is largely accountable for community awareness, ASB association, publicity, and club member communication (e-mails, etc.)
