July 6, 2005 SIGNIS PHILIPPINES/ASIA c/o Fr. James B. Reuters, S.J. Director, National Office of Mass Media 2307 Pedro Gil St., Sta. Ana 1009 Manila, Philippines Attention: Ms. Cherry Aquino Dear Fr. Reuters: “Health in the Lord and the Blessing of the Holy Spirit!” The Titus Brandsma Center Media Program (TBCMP) would like again to ask for the support of SIGNIS as it embarks on its third project entitled, “AN OPEN SPACE FOR MEDIA AND SPIRITUALITY (A continuing dialogue and media education project).” These projects are the quarterly Media and Spirituality Forum Series nationwide and the monthly Film Dialogue dubbed as pelikula@titusbrandsma. The series of fora will serve the media practitioners in the key centers of the country as we gather them on a day of formation and sharing on themes like; Faith in Media, Spirituality and Social Communication, Challenges to Evangelization, and the like. Likewise, Film Dialogue is a systematic, goal-oriented, personal (“inner”) and group dialogue on films and TV stories that facilitate the sharing of faith-life experiences, reflections and interpretations of the varied meanings of life towards integration and wholeness. Film Dialogue as a concept was introduced and promoted by the late Fr. Henk Hoekstra, O. Carm, the former president of OCIC and also the primary mover in establishing TBCMP here in the Philippines. Since 2000, pelikula@titusbrandsma has been a consistent crowd drawer. People from all walks of life: teachers, students, young professionals, religious and lay leaders, film enthusiasts, artists and media practitioners. TBCMP would like to continue the legacy of Fr. Hoekstra through this program and would like to reach out more to the people in the provinces thru the Media and Spirituality Forum Series and Film Dialogue with its outreach programs.

Thus, we now submit to your office this project proposal and hope you find merit to all our endeavors and programs for the ongoing formation of media practitioners and TBCMP’s community beneficiaries. Thank you and more power!

Very truly yours,

Ms. Maria Fatima A. Villena Program Coordinator, TBCMP

Rev. Fr. Christian B. Buenafe, O. Carm. Director, TBCMP
