This Ford Warranty and Service Guide detads the warranties and regular services necessary to keep your vehicle at peak efficiency throughout its life.

The Ford new vehicle warranty Your new Ford vehicle is covered by a 12 month unlimited mileage UTarranty.This means that if any part of the vehicle becomes defective due to faulty manufacture or materials within 12 months of the date you take delivery, the part will be repaired or replaced (as to which we have complete discretion) free of charge by anyy Authorised Ford Dealer in Europe.

The only conditions are: the vehicle must be serviced as recommended in the Ford Service Plan and preferably5y a Ford Dealer. the vehicle must not have been neglected, misused, modified or used for racing or rallying. the vehicle's plated weights must not have been exceeded. In exceptional circumstances Ford will consider claims ~ u t s i d ethe normal 12 month Warranty period for repairs undertaken by an Authorised Ford Dealer.

The Warranty does not cover: the fitting of non-approved parts. * routine adjustment or normal replacement of sewice items (such as oils, fluids, spark plugs, filters) or wear and tear items (such as brake and clutch friction materials, exhausts and wiper blades). However such items are covered if replacement is required as a result of an original manufacturing or material defect.

In the event of a breakdown during the Warranty period where the vehicle remains immobilised despite RAG roadside assistance and is recovered to a Ford Dealer, a loan vehicle will be provided for up to 24 hours free of charge (excluding fuel, subject to status). Should you be inconvenienced by any warranty repair which results in your vehicle being imrnobilised for longer than 24 hours, please consult your dealer who d l advise on alternative arrangements. The Ford Perforation Warranty In addition to the normal warranty, the bodyshell of your Ford is covered against rust-through from the inside for 6 years ( Focus models 12 years) from the date you take delivery. Within t,his period, the full cost of an.v repair will be met by Ford. Surface rusting or contamination due to any external factor, such as stone chips or bird droppings, is not included.

To enjoy continued protection, the vehicle bod>woskmust be cared for as described in the Owner's Guide. Any accident damage must be repaired using genuine Ford parts or parts of matching quality and preferably by a Ford Accident Repair Cent,re. You must contact your Ford dealer promptly if any rusting becomes evident.

Ford Service Connect is the best way t,o look after your Ford from the day you take delivery. Servicing, extended warranty and the benefits of RAC membership can be covered by your plan. You can choose a Ford Sewice Connect Plan to suit your needs arid reel culifid~r~t tliat yuu will enjoy up to three years of worryfree rnotormg. There are two plans to choose from: Platinum Plan A comprehensive plan giving you the benefits of three key elements: 1. Scheduled Servicing

Platinum Plans cover scheduled servicirrg reco~runer~ded by Ford, including parts and labour, for the length of the plan you choose - up to three years from the date of new vehicle sale. As trheplan includes servicing, it must be taken out before the first standard service is due i.e. before twelve months or 10 000 miles (Transit 12 600 miles), whichever is sooner. 2. Extended Warranty With Ford Service Connect Plans, you can extend the t.ivelve month manufacturer" warranty by up to a further two years. In the unlikely event of a fault due to a material or manufacturing defect, both the labour and parts costs associated with repair or repIacement d l be covered bylhe extended warranty.

If the repair takes longer than twent.y-four hours, you will be entit,led to up to seven days free car hire. 3. RAC Membership Your new Ford comes uith a year's RAC membership. With Ford Service Connect you can extend this benefit lor up to two further years. In an emergency, your Ford Personal Incident Manager at the RAC will provide the appropriate 'Rescue', 'Recovery' or 'At Home' service. Gold Plan A plan which incorporates two key

elements, but excludes inflation proof servicing: I. Extended Warranty 2. RAC Membership The benefits of these key elements are the same as those in the Platinum Plan. You can take out a Gold Plan at any time up to twelve months from the date of new vehicle sale.

:ord Service Connect Plans Tailored to suit you Choose the Ford Service C ~ n n e c t Plan that suits your needs. Both Platinum and Gold Plans are available with two or three year options. The plans run from the new vehicle warranty start date (usually the date of first registration) .

As the first year warranty and R4C membership is free of charge, a 2 year plan is a one year extension and a 3 year plan is a t~ro year extension of these benefits. The warranty extension and RAC membership are valid for an unlimited mileage within the time limit of the plan. Selecting the number of services you will need in a Platinum Plan is detemined by the length of the contract and your annual estimated mileage. Straightforward conditions Your vehicle must be serviced by an authorised Ford Dealer, according to the schedules in your Ford Warranty and Service Guide and your Senice History Log must be stamped and kept up to date. Component failures due to accident damage or neglect are not covered. Cover is invalidated :f the vehicle is modified or used for rallying or racing, private hire, taxi services or short term rentaI (vehicles leased for six months or mcre are still eligible).

Normal wear and tear parts: ancillary drive belts, batteries, brake friction material, bulbs, clutch facings, exhaust pipes and siIencers (although catalytic converters are covered), fuses, l a m ~ ssheck . absorbers and ~ a d ~ h e r s struts, on tyres and wiper blades. Trim and bodywork: interior trims, glass (although heating elements are covered), seat covers and pads, bumpers, mouldings, paint, sheet melal, water leaks, weather strip and body seals, aerials and wheels. Gold Plan Standard service parts: air cleaners, pollen filters (where applicable), oil filters and gaskets, spark plugs, most fluids and engine oils. Purchased Parts Warranty (Parts fitted in Senrice) If any purchased Ford or Motorcraft part (new or exchange) becomes defective due to faulty manufacture or materials, the part will be repaired or replaced (as to which we shall have complete discretion) by any Authorised Ford Dealer free of charge within the periods defined below from the dat,e you purchased the part.

If the defective part was fitted and rectified by a Ford Dealer, the cost of the part plus labour will be reimbursed. Otherwise only the cost of the part itself d l be reimbursed (in the case of complete engine and transmissibn assemblies purchased through an independent motor trader, labour costs nil1 also he reimbursed, subject to correct installation). Alternatively take your vehicle to a Ford Dealer, and rectification will be carried out free of charge.

Conditions applicable to all Warranties Warranty on repaired or replaced parts

Any part repaired or replaced under warranty will be covered for the balance of the originally applicable warranty period. Geographic coverage

These Warranties apply in all countries in Europe(*). However, in some of these countries Dealers may request payment. In that case, give the invoice showing an adequate description of the repair on your return to an Authorised Ford Dealer who will then process a claim fur the cost involved. Transfer of Warranties

If you sell your vehicle, the UParranties are autamatically transferred free of charge to a second or subsequent owner. Statutory rights These Warranties are in addition to your statutory and common law rights which are unaffected.

Their facilities, experience and commitment to your satisfaction make them the logical choice to maintain and repair your Ford throughout its life. The right people for the job Technicians trained by Ford 144th up to date knowledge of product technologv and service developments, and reception staff trained by Ford to provide customers tvith the highest standards of courtesy and attention. The right tools for the job Ford Dealer workshops are equipped with an extensive range of special tools and test equipment specified by Ford, including FDS2000 and \VDS - the latest in computerised diagnostic equipment designed by Ford especially for the advanced deetronic systems which are part of your vehicle. The right parts for the job

The use of Ford and Motorcraft replacement parts

During the ~~eveloprnent of Ford vehicles, extensive testing is undertaken t o ensure that all components meet the required durability standards and performance levels. In carrying out any Warranty or Ford Service Connect repairs, your Ford Dealer is required to fit Ford or Motorcraft replacement parts. To obtain the rr!aximum benefil from the Ford New Vehicle Warranty it is recommended that Ford or Motorcraft parts are also used for senicing and any other repairs. There are a number of key components on vehicles where this is particularly important. For example when brake pads are renewed you would want them to meet stnngent safety standards. To ensure this is so, they should be genuine Ford or Motorcraft parts w h ~ meet h the relevant Ford engineering specifications and quality control standards. If any doubt exists about the suitability of pasts consult your Ford Dealer In the event that a non-Ford part is fitted to effect a 'get you home' repair, consult your Ford Dealer as soon as possible after your return.

The Ford Dealer and you Contacting your Dealer \%'hen contacting your Ford Dealer to make a booking ask for Service Reception. The Sewlce Receptionist will probably ask you for the following information which can be listed in your Semce History Log: -Your name, address and daytime telephone number -Vehicle model and type -Registration number -Vehicle mileage -Type of service required or details of repair required. Please tell the Dealer when making the booking if you feel the repair is covered by the terms of the Ford New Vehicle Warran:y or Ford Service Connect Plan. If you are making an appointment for a service or repair for which you are paying, ask for an inclusive estimate of the price and establish with the Dealer their acceptable terms of payment. On arrival at your Dealer Please note your vehicle mileage and present your Service History Log. In the case of a Ford Service Connect Plan repair, your Contract should also be presented.

Ensure that you confirm with the Service Advisor full details of the work required and where to contact you if any work is identified which is unexpected or will exceed the cost of an estimate you may have been given. Post Box Reception To save you time, many Dealers have a Post Box Reception facility which enables you to leave your keys and pecessary documentation with the Dealer outside their normal opening times or to avoid queuing. Collecting your vehicle Study the invoice to ensure you understand its content. Please do not hesitate to ask the Receptionist if something is not clear. Check that the details have been recorded in the Service History Log.

In the event of an accident The benef~tsof Ford Dealer service extend beyond their mechanical workshops. Most Ford Dealers have modern well equipped body repair facilities and have the expertise to carry out repairs to your vehicle promptly and according to t,he Ford procedures.

Annual service schedules Regular maintenance is an essential iaart of k e e ~ i vour a vehicle in a safe, economical and environmentally friendly condition. It \&-ill also protect your vehicle's resale value. In order to keep your vehicle running as efficiently and reliably as possible you should arrange to have it serviced once a year, or, if your annual mileage is particularly high, at the mileage interval appropriate for your vehicle. The maximum mileage interval between services for your vehicle is shown in the chart below. You must also have yovour vehicle senrkceci in line with the correct Ford schedule. There are two types of service schedule applicable to your vehicle - Annual Standard and Major. The chart below outlines which service is applicable at which age/rnileage.
