EVENTS > ABLAZE-The Cult Fest

> ABLAZE - The Cult Fest held in college campus th from 13 to 19th November. > Famous pop group AASMA rocked Kautilya at Dazzling Dusk on 19th November. > College gets affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. > Format of question paper and pattern of syllabus changes for B.E. Ist year students for the academic year 2006-07. > Mega Placement in campus held by renowned retailer Welspun (India) Ltd. for MBA and Engineering students.
Situated in the historic city of Jaipur, KITE-SOM is a prominent institute of technical and management education, which is promoted by JEC, Jaipur Society and is run by renowned academics, social workers and top professionals from all walks of life. The KITE campus spreads across 22000 sq. meter area in the serene environment, which has been designed to integrate the ideas of academic stimulation, knowledge based learning and all round development. The campus environment promotes a fine balance of efficiently engineered professionalism and personal ethics. The institute is emphasizing on multifaceted activities, which include a comprehensive mix of educational, training, research, consulting and proficiency enhancement activities.
Facilities: Work Shop
The college has a well equipped workshop where students learn about basic manufacturing methods. Every student prepares jobs in the entire workshop with his/her own hands under the guidance of experienced faculty & technicians. Lecture Halls
>Seminars and Guest Lectures held in campus by Lotus Education.
Students’ Speak .... The canteen facility of our college is one of the major weak points as I see. The canteen is no more than just a classroom in area. In addition, there isn’t a proper sitting arrangement available. The food stuff available is not what one would want to see in a good
Big lecture halls have been designed in the form of auditorium so that each student has a clean and full view of black board without any obstruction from front seats. Theater shaped, spacious and well-ventilated classrooms have been equipped with comfortable sitting arrangement. Well-equipped tutorial rooms are available for closer interaction between students and lecturers.
The affiliation of the college with RTU has caused much chaos among the students of B.E. Ist year on various fronts. The marking scheme for internal and external marks is not clear among the students which have left all of them perplexed. Even the submission date of
Computer Lab
Modern computer lab with latest hardware and software is available to students. Each student has independent access to a computer. The server and all individual work stations are also networked through LAN. Library
KITE has one of the finest and largest Engineering, Management and allied education library system in the region. • KITE has a well-stocked library housing 1200 titles and 8000 volumes, 25 periodicals/journals. • A large no. of reference books on variety of subjects are also available which assist in disseminating information and updating knowledge. • It has a digital section having Audio/Video CDs and CBTs. Library services are accessible all round the clock. • For all the first year students, the library provides book bank facility (8 books to each student) free of cost.
The famous pop group AASMA rocked Kautilya on the evening of the 19th of November 2006, as the annual prize distribution function and Dazzling Dusk marked the end of the sports and cultural week, Ablaze. The event was held in college premises and around 4000 people were present to mark this event. The evening also included prize distribution for cultural and sports week winners and the university merit holders were also awarded.
Further Developments The college is building up rapidly on its infrastructure. A new boy’s hostel is under construction and will be completed very soon. The hostel is planned to accommodate a squash court, a well equipped gymnasium, a common room, a reading room and indoor sports like Table Tennis, Billiards etc. A new girls hostel has also been constructed recently in the college campus which has accommodated around 100 students.
Hostel
Kautilya Institute of Technology & Engineering is establishing a spacious well furnished hostel with boarding & lodging facilities. Hostel is so designed that it ensures privacy and homely atmosphere at one hand and promotes community living and fraternity on the other. -Staff Reporter
The internet lab of our college is not well equipped. Not even 20% of the hostlers can sit in the lab at a time as the internet lab is not big enough to accommodate all of them. Due to this, students face a lot of difficulties. Even all the computers are not in working condition. The situation might become healthier if the concerned authorities take some steps in this direction. -Ajay Rai (B.E. Ist yr. Mechanical)
