Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
RABS Valve Location
REMOVAL 1. Disconnect and plug the anti-lock brake control module and rear brake tube connected to the anti-lock brake control module. 2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the anti-lock brake control module. 3. Remove the screw that retains the anti-lock brake control module to the fender apron. Remove the anti-lock brake control module.
INSTALLATION 1. Position the anti-lock brake control module on the fender apron. Install the retaining screw and tighten to 3.3-4.5 Nm (30-40 in lb). 2. Connect the wiring harness connector to the anti-lock brake control module CAUTION: Do not over-tighten the fittings. 3. Connect the rear brake tube to the anti-lock brake control module and tighten as follows: a. 1/2-20 threaded fittings use 14-23 Nm (10-17 ft lb). b. 7/16-24 threaded fittings use 14-20 Nm (10-15 ft lb). c. 3/8-24 threaded fittings use 14-20 Nm (10-15 ft lb). 4. Bleed the brake system. It is not necessary to energize the anti-lock brake control module electrically to bleed the rear brake drums.
