1896cohoesnecrology Notes The following is a list of 275 people appearing in the July 15, 1896 edition of the Cohoes Republican newspaper having passed away between July 1895 and July 1896. I have done my best to accurately transcribe the article, however due to the quality of the newspaper and or microfilm, errors are possible. Where a ? appears; letters were unreadable. Please note, not all people listed died in the City of Cohoes, so the Cohoes city clerk may not be able to provide a copy of their death certificate. For instance, people may have taken ill and died in hospital in Troy, NY which is just across the Hudson River, from Cohoes. Another possibility, as in the case of my great grandfather, he moved in with his daughter who lived in Albany shortly before he died.
