Fort Morgan Police Are Investigating the Fatal Stabbing of a Fort Morgan Woman Fort Morgan Police are investigating the stabbing death of a Fort Morgan woman in the 400 block of West Kiowa last night. Police responded to a 911 call of a woman who had been reported stabbed at 11:36 p.m. outside her home. On arrival, the unidentified female victim of East African decent was pronounced dead. Police obtained a search warrant to enter the scene and to further investigate. Police quickly learned of a possible suspect and with the assistance of Greeley Police Department, we now have a Greeley man in custody. Fort Morgan investigators responded to Greeley after obtaining an arrest warrant and returned with Ahmed Abdi, age 25 of Greeley. Abdi is charged with Murder in the Second Degree and First and Second Degree Assault. He is being held at the Morgan County Detention Center. This investigation proceeded quickly because of the help we received from the public. The information as it came in was important and was a key part in helping the investigation move quickly before the evidence was gone. The Morgan County Coroner's Office and Thirteenth Judicial District Attorney's Office assisted in the investigation. The last homicide in Fort Morgan was October 28, 2006, in which Marion Duckworth was charged with 2nd Degree Murder in the shooting death of Weston King.
