Austin State School Gifts If you forgot to bring your wrapped gift for the Austin State School gift from the Giving Tree. Well-wishes can be sent to [email protected] Special Feast Day This Wednesday, December 12, is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas. This feast recalls her appearance to St. Juan Diego in Mexico and her image impressed on his apron that has become a powerful icon for man. The 12:05 p.m. Mass will be celebrated in English and Spanish. All are welcome!

Christmas Eve Pageant and Rehearsal We will have the rehearsal and costume distribution for the Christmas Eve Pageant on Sunday, Dec. 23rd, following the 10:30 a.m. Mass. As most know, absolutely no talent is required for participation, and there is no limit to the number of "actors" that our pageant can accommodate. Come one, come all! Confirmation Our adult (18+) Confirmation program will begin Monday, January 22, 2008, at 7pm. This program is for Catholic adults who were baptized Catholic, received First Communion, had some Catholic religious education, but are not confirmed. There is no pre-registration, but it is very important to be at the first meeting. The meeting room is in the Catacombs at the UCC. Confirmation will be celebrated by Bishop Aymond at the UCC on Monday, May 5. The fee for the program is $20. Any questions, contact Jim Harrington, Program Facilitator, at [email protected] or Deacon John De La Garza at [email protected] It takes a lot of elves to decorate our worship space for Christmas. Decorating will take place immediately following the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, December 23. Please stay a little longer and help make the UCC beautiful! Any time you can give is deeply appreciated. Please help make our worship space beautiful for Christmas by donating poinsettias as a memorial for a loved one. The names of those memorialized will be listed in our bulletin. Flowers can be brought to the UCC on Sunday, December 23, in time to decorate after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Blue Christmas Rather than being a time filled with lights and laughter, gifts topped with red bows and holiday parties where family and friends feast and engage in light-hearted conversation, for many people, Christmas is a very lonely, depressing, “blue” time. Whether grieving the loss of loved ones, other losses, or feeling alone wounded or otherwise disconnected from the usual holiday festivities Christmas can be a very difficult time, especially when it comes to attending Mass. If you are feeling out of synch this Christmas season, know that you are not alone. The University Catholic Center invites you to come and bring your life experiences and feelings. You are welcome and accepted. December 24, Christmas Eve—9:00 pm. Life isn’t perfect. If it were, Jesus would not have had to come. Micah 6 Food Pantry Please don’t forget our neighbors during this Holiday Season. Please continue to support the Micah 6 Food Pantry with your generous donations so that all may have a wonderful Holiday! Compass Bible Study! Meeting on Thursday nights from 7-8 pm in the Mother Teresa Room, Compass is a fun and laidback way to read scripture and get a little more out of Mass. Every week we spend an hour discussing the next Sunday’s readings and sharing our faith. We are student run, student led, and totally low time commitment, so drop by whenever you can.
